About this role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to support young people in achieving their recovery and wellness goals.

As a Peer Practitioner, you will use your lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to build connections, offer hope, and support others on their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored and integrated case managed responses to young people through flexible outreach.
  • Deliver high-quality services that respond to the unique needs of each individual, offering a flexible and person-centred approach.
  • Support young people to navigate services and connect with community supports that help them build confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in daily life.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), or a related field are required.
  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced Training is desirable but not essential.
  • Lived or living experience of mental distress and recovery, as well as a willingness to support clients through sharing learnings and recovery-oriented practice, is required.
  • Previous experience in using lived experience and expertise in a dedicated Peer role is preferred.
