About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Lead Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our clients and leading a team of support staff to deliver exceptional care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the provision of daily living support to residents, ensuring their care and service plans are implemented effectively.
  • Promote social and physical engagement among residents, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Assess residents' conditions and functional abilities, identifying and managing risks, and ensuring their care and service plans are updated accordingly.
  • Ensure the optimal use of medications, monitoring for adverse effects, and administering them in a timely and safe manner.
  • Provide leadership, direction, support, mentoring, and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration staff on each shift.
  • Ensure clear and succinct handovers from shift to shift, with relevant documentation in the 7-day handover sheet correlating with progress notes, alert notification forms, care plan suggested change forms, and risk management plans.
  • Ensure all staff read and comply with relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
About You

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse who possesses the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) and Current CPR Certificate (HLTAID009).
  • Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse in an Aged Care environment.
  • Sound communication skills with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and write clearly and concisely, particularly in progress notes.
  • Exceptional time management skills to manage your workload to meet deadlines and support other staff.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills to balance supporting residents' desire for independence and self-determination against potential risks and duty of care.
  • High-level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, including those who display challenging behaviors.
  • Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved.
  • Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge, including medicines used in aged care.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Aged Care Standards, particularly as they relate to accreditation.
