We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Nurse Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for directing and delivering high-quality nursing care to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care/service plan.
- Lead and promote social and physical engagement in all resident interactions.
- Assess resident's condition and functional ability, and ensure risks are identified, managed, and evaluated.
- Ensure optimal use of medications, monitor for adversity, and administer in a timely and safe manner.
- Provide leadership, direction, support, mentoring, and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance, and Administration staff on each shift.
- Ensure clear and succinct handover from shift to shift and relevant documentation in the 7-day handover sheet correlates with the progress notes, alert notification form, care plan suggested change forms, and risk management plans.
- Ensure all staff read and comply with all policies, procedures, and work instructions relevant to them.
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Nursing and current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse. You will also require a current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate. Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse in an Aged Care Environment is essential.
You will possess sound communication skills, with a level of English literacy that enables you to speak in a manner that older people can understand, as well as the ability to read written instructions and write clearly and concisely, particularly in progress notes.
You will also have exceptional time management skills to manage your own workload to meet deadlines and support other staff. Outstanding problem-solving skills to balance supporting resident's desire for independence and self-determination against potential risks and duty of care are also required.
High-level understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia, including those who display challenging behaviors, is essential. Understanding of how to apply AN-ACC to ensure optimum levels of funding are achieved is also required.
Excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge, including of medicines used in aged care, is necessary. Excellent knowledge of the Aged Care Standards, particularly as they relate to accreditation, is also required.
