About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Carer to join our team at Southern Cross Care. As a Personal Carer, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality personal care to our residents, ensuring their dignity and well-being are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting residents with daily tasks and activities, including personal care and mobility
- Working collaboratively with the team to develop and deliver person-centred care plans
- Respectfully assisting residents with meals and drinks to create a safe and enjoyable experience
- Promoting independence and confidence by encouraging residents to participate in activities
- Supporting and nurturing partnerships with residents, recognising their individual needs and preferences
- Supporting residents to make choices about their lifestyle and activities, in line with their care plan
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or Certificate III in Aged Care
- Demonstrated experience in a personal carer role, with the ability to work independently
- Sound best practice personal and clinical care skills, with a focus on resident-centred care
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Sound time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload
- Excellent understanding of dementia care, including supporting residents with challenging behaviours
- Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Understanding of AN-ACC requirements (desirable)
