Supporting Student Development

We are seeking a qualified Counsellor or Psychologist to enrich our students' personal and social development and support their mental health and wellbeing.

The role involves providing counselling, wellbeing support, referrals and advisory information to students from ELC to Year 12.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing counselling to students perceived as vulnerable or at risk;
  • Acting as the liaison between the student, school and external specialists in the area of health and wellbeing;
  • Providing advice to colleagues and parents in supporting students in their personal development, mental health and wellbeing;
  • Working with the Student Development Team to devise and administer a comprehensive program to support the development of the welfare and pastoral needs of students;
  • Supporting the development of school policy and strategic planning in the area of child safety; and
  • Working as a member of the team of Child Safety Officers to ensure compliance with Mandatory Reporting requirements, and the overall care, safety and welfare of our students.

Requirements: A Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology with eligibility for membership of the relevant professional body. The successful applicant will possess highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, and will be able to operate effectively both independently and as part of a team.
