Description:

We are seeking a visionary leader to drive transformative change in student wellbeing and support.

  • The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for mental health, safety, disability, and inclusion, positioning our institution as a national leader in student support and community care.

The Student Wellbeing Champion will be part of a team deeply committed to student success, equity, and community impact. This role offers an opportunity to shape the future of wellbeing in higher education while working within a supportive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive wellbeing strategy that aligns with our mission and values.
  • Lead the development of policies and procedures related to student wellbeing, including mental health, safety, and disability.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teams responsible for delivering student wellbeing services, including counselling, accessibility, safer communities, and chaplaincy.
  • Collaborate with academic and non-academic staff to ensure a coordinated approach to wellbeing and student support.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of wellbeing issues relating to university students.
  • Detailed understanding of frameworks and strategies for health promotion, prevention, and wellbeing.
  • Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent in relevant area.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with an appropriate professional association.
  • Extensive relevant experience.
  • Blue Card and current Registration with AHPRA or AASW.
