The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all supplier invoices and staff expense reimbursement claims are processed and paid accurately and on time, in accordance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all tasks associated with the Accounts Payable function, including the timely processing and payment of supplier invoices and staff reimbursements
  • Ensure that the AP Aged Creditors ledger is up to date
  • Validate General Ledger coding and authorize supplier invoices before entry into the ERP system
  • Obtain authorized Purchase Order Requests and other supporting documents from relevant business departments
  • Check supplier invoices or POR commitments against company and channel budgets, escalating any variances
  • Work with other departments to ensure planned commitments are included in regular payment runs
  • Maintain appropriate company records and month-end processes associated with the accounts payable function
  • Provide timely and relevant information to management as required
  • Oversee the activation, editing, and closure of all customer accounts
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in accounting and/or bookkeeping (or similar)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience in accounts payable
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Sage Evolution experience desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, set objectives, and meet deadlines
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
