Key Responsibilities:
- Management of Financial Operations:
- Supervise all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Deliver critical commercial insights into business performance and implement enhancement measures.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, providing detailed reporting and analysis as needed.
- Lead the daily operations of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that motivates the team to achieve peak performance and encourages professional development.
- Financial Strategy Development:
- Formulate and execute financial strategies that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Direct financial modeling, planning, and budgeting initiatives for each department.
- Engage in ongoing discussions with management regarding financial performance.
- Utilize financial data and industry trend analysis to provide insights on long-term financial forecasts.
- Compliance Assurance:
- Guarantee adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial legislation.
- Reporting Responsibilities:
- Generate precise departmental reports in accordance with the monthly company schedule, including Profit & Loss statements with analysis and commentary, forecasts, and annual plans.
- Deliver robust reporting standards, transforming complex data into actionable insights that are easily comprehensible.
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Financial Analysis:
- Create monthly management accounts, conduct regular analytical reviews, and compare performance against budget targets for each department.
- Maintenance of Financial Registers:
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Manage the Property & Equipment register, providing insights and concise advice regarding the turnover of items and the analysis of acquisition methods (rent to buy, lease, purchase outright, etc.).
- Process Improvement Initiatives:
- Collaborate on process documentation and improvement initiatives as necessary.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management:
- Participate in the senior leadership team responsible for driving organizational performance.
- Partner with all business areas to enhance commercial awareness and financial understanding at the project level.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks and financial institutions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and identify and implement opportunities.
- Ad-hoc Financial Support:
- Provide reporting and support as requested by senior management.
- Deliver additional financial analysis and support as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, with a proven track record in a managerial role.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
