Job Description

The Employment Relations Advisor will oversee and lead employment relations processes, ensuring compliance and best practices across the organisation. This includes managing ER cases end-to-end, partnering with HR Business Partners to advise leaders on performance management, and providing expert advice on investigations, grievances, and industrial relations matters.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of HR strategies that drive business results
  • Oversee ER cases from start to finish, ensuring high-quality documentation and record-keeping
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to coach and advise leaders on performance management
  • Conduct workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, and outcomes while adhering to Australian and New Zealand guidelines
  • Provide guidance on performance management, investigations, grievances, and industrial relations matters
  • Assist the HR team in policy development, change management, and training initiatives
  • Represent the business in external mediation processes with Fair Work and the Employment Relations Authority NZ
  • Support HR projects aimed at improving processes and enhancing employee experience
  • Ensure HR & Payroll Compliance processes align with industry awards and standards
  • Identify trends in grievance and ER reporting and provide insights to stakeholders
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in HR Generalist roles, specifically in AUS/NZ practices
  • Prior experience in the retail industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in employment relations-focused HR roles
  • Experience working in a growth-oriented organisation would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of Modern Awards, policy development, and compliance
  • Knowledge of New Zealand employment practices would be beneficial
  • A solid grasp of HR activities throughout the employee lifecycle, including legal compliance and associated legislative requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
