About the Role

Children's Health Queensland is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering high-quality patient and family-centred care. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coding and Documentation Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Coding and Documentation Liaison team, ensuring high-quality coded data and optimisation of weighted activity units (WAU).
  • Coordinate and conduct coder-clinician liaison functions to facilitate effective communication with clinicians across service divisions.
  • Design, conduct, and evaluate ongoing documentation education to improve clinical documentation quality and clinician knowledge of documentation and coding impact on revenue optimisation.
  • Monitor and analyse Activity Based Funding (ABF) data to enable customised Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) optimisation audits and clinical documentation education.
  • Provide regular reports of audit findings, optimisation outcomes, documentation query outcomes, and clinical engagement activities.
