Job Title:

Overview:

The Operations Site Manager oversees daily operations at a site, managing depots, facilities, expenses, and staff to ensure safety, performance, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage depot operations, support managers and supervisors to meet quality and budget goals.
  • Monitor budgets, operational metrics, diagnose issues, and improve processes.
  • Implement safety measures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other standards.
  • Investigate injuries and incidents, enforce discipline, and provide retraining.
  • Manage personnel needs, including hiring, coaching, disciplining, training, evaluating employees, and contributing to decisions on termination, compensation, and promotions.
  • Set short- and long-term goals and action plans in collaboration with the Site Manager and Director of Operations.
  • Participate in P&L reviews, optimize equipment use, and manage costs.
  • Engage with local agencies to ensure customer satisfaction, improve efficiency, renew, and negotiate contracts.
  • Address employee and labor relations issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience: 5+ years managing teams.
  • Education: Associate degree or High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or solid waste operations involving coaching, routing, and employee leadership.
  • Additional skills: Experience in operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, financial management, and human resources.
