About the Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team at Alfred Health, working within the Youth Justice system.

Your primary role will be to provide specialist mental health assessment, treatment, and support to young persons and their families involved with Youth Justice.

You will also have an educational, community development, and networking role, which includes consultation and advice to Youth Justice.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that offers flexible working arrangements. You will be based between Moorabbin and Frankston and will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mental health assessment, treatment, and support to young persons and their families involved with Youth Justice.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for young people, in collaboration with their families and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and training to youth justice staff on mental health issues and interventions.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination and transitions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health policies and procedures within the Youth Justice system.

Requirements:

  • Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., nursing, psychology, social work, occupational therapy).
  • Minimum seven years' experience working in mental health, with a focus on working with children, young people, and their families.
  • Extensive experience in providing mental health assessment, treatment, and support to young people in forensic or youth justice settings.
  • Australian working rights and a current Victorian driver's license.
  • Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a background check.
