Job Opportunity:

This position presents a unique chance to work autonomously in a high-performing legal team, utilizing your technical legal skills effectively.

The Legal Services team is responsible for providing practical, timely, and accessible legal advice to the organization. This includes preparing and reviewing critical legal documentation, supporting officer empowerment through training and resource production on legislative and compliance issues, managing the external Legal Services Panel, and identifying and briefing executive officers and/or the CEO on strategic legal issues and risks.

As a Legal Advisor, you will be working closely with other business specialists in Governance, Risk, and Assurance. You will be trusted to manage your own matters while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and empowering officers through legal training.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic, robust, and have a character oriented around solutions. They will be someone who is commercial, hardworking, and above all accountable.

About the Role:

  1. Providing Practical Legal Advice
  2. Preparing and Reviewing Critical Legal Documentation
  3. Supporting Officer Empowerment and Development
  4. Managing the External Legal Services Panel
  5. Identifying and Briefing Executive Officers

Key Requirements:

  • At least three years' post-qualification experience as a solicitor or barrister of the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory
  • A demonstrated capacity in efficiently managing matters and your own workload and workflow
  • An ability to analyze issues and make sound recommendations, and a firm but accessible approach which allows your advice to be disseminated by all levels of the organization
