Job Title: Science and Research Leader

The role of a science and research leader is critical to the success of any organization.

  • Develop, deliver, and evaluate key strategic science initiatives.
  • Manage end-to-end projects, from planning and stakeholder engagement to implementation and reporting.
  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based policy advice.
  • Draft complex briefings and reports.
  • Consult with stakeholders across sectors to support research investment and capability in NSW.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Policy Development: Proven experience in science/research policy, including grant program management or policy development.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong ability to manage complex stakeholders across government, academia, and industry.
  3. Project Leadership: Experience leading end-to-end project management and delivery in government or complex settings.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, including preparing high-quality briefings, reports, and advice for senior decision-makers.
  5. Analytical Thinking: Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and provide evidence-based recommendations.
