Research Leader in Applied Plasma Physics and Biointerface Engineering

We are seeking a Research Leader to join our team and establish an ambitious research program spanning plasma science and biomedical technologies.

The successful candidate will build collaborations with leading researchers; contribute to outstanding teaching and learning; demonstrate research excellence, develop a program of original research either independently or as part of a team, and pursue external funding to support this research;

  • Contribution to Teaching: The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate physics and biomedical engineering classes.
  • Research Leadership: The candidate is expected to lead a research group, pursuing high-impact research projects that span plasma science and biomedical technologies.
  • External Funding: The Research Leader will be responsible for securing external funding to support their research program.
  • Collaboration: The candidate will collaborate with leading researchers across the University and industry partners.

The successful candidate will have a PhD or other research doctorate in a relevant field; a strong track record of research including applied plasma physics and biointerface engineering; demonstrated expertise in plasma processing, materials / surface science and engineering; excellent communication skills; ability to work independently and motivate junior members of the team; demonstrated ability and enthusiasm to work in multidisciplinary contexts.
