Senior Finance Leader Job Summary

Job Description:

  • Lead the finance function for a major brand in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Manage state-of-the-art offices in Newcastle CBD.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as a key member of the APAC Leadership Team, contributing to strategic and operational decision-making.

  2. Partner with global finance leaders to ensure alignment of processes and reporting.

  3. Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team across APAC, building capability and supporting succession planning.

  4. Oversee accounting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and regional regulations.

  5. Manage audits and liaise with auditors, regulators, and tax authorities to ensure deadlines are met.

  6. Implement and maintain accounting systems, automation, and process improvements.

  7. Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and financial statements for APAC entities.

  8. Develop and monitor finance policies and reporting frameworks, ensuring timely and accurate information is delivered to stakeholders.

  9. Provide variance analysis and insights to guide business performance and financial decision-making.

  10. Drive risk management and compliance initiatives across the APAC region.

  11. Ensure tax and financial compliance across the APAC Region.

  12. Enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to strengthen financial integrity.

  13. Complete any additional projects as directed by the CFO.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 2 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Proven experience leading finance functions in complex, multinational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements across APAC jurisdictions.
  • Expertise in treasury management, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
  • Experience engaging with external stakeholders such as auditors, regulators, and tax authorities.
  • A track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of cross-border finance operations and global business practices.
  • Ability to travel as required, including internationally.
  • Industry experience in travel, hospitality, or services will be highly regarded.
