Operations Manager and Fleet Operations Expert

About the Role:

Alstom is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the Sydney Light Rail Lilyfield and Randwick depot facilities. In this key position, you will be responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly, safety compliance is maintained, and performance improvements are driven.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the overall scope and teams at Lilyfield and Randwick depots.
  2. Ensure 100% compliance with Alstom safety rules and guidelines and manage EHS topics to ensure safety.
  3. Manage Rolling Stock (RS) units in the depot, ensuring performance and availability meet planned objectives.
  4. Mobilise and maintain resource availability, especially Technicians, as per the contract requirements, and work closely with HR on recruitment and retention initiatives.
  5. Oversee Mixed Fleet Operations (MFO) without affecting current operations and ensure fleet availability and contractual performance.
  6. Collaborate with Sydney Light Rail infrastructure teams to implement and manage site processes, logistics, and infrastructure.
  7. Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as the customer's preferred contact.
  8. Use KPIs to monitor performance, manage risks, savings, and opportunities, and support workforce motivation and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary engineering degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in the railway industry or an adjacent sector.
  • Experience in fleet operations and site process implementation.
  • Proven ability to lead teams including; maintenance, test & commissioning, technicians.
  • Strong understanding of EHS topics, railway systems, and reliability growth principles.
