About the Role

This is a full-time Laboratory Technician Traineeship where you will work, study, and gain a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills over a 24-month period, while gaining invaluable industry experience at a reputable government organisation.

As a Laboratory Technician Trainee, you will work in the quality control laboratory, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company's manufactured products. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Measuring and testing using precision equipment to check dimensions of manufactured parts and ensure product quality.
  • Calibrating measuring instruments to maintain precision.
  • Conducting load and package testing to assess product durability.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports.

Traineeship Information

This traineeship is a 24-month duration. During this traineeship, you will be working full-time (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday, learning all the skills of the industry within a real working environment.

Within the 38 hours working week, you will be allocated 3-hours paid study time to work toward completing your Certificate III in Laboratory Skills.

Candidate Requirements

  • Year 12 proficient with high mathematics and literacy skills.
  • Mechanically minded and have a passion for hands-on work.
  • Driver's Licence and Vehicle is required.
  • Be willing to undertake a security clearance and medical assessment.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen.
  • Not have any previous qualifications within the industry exceeding a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills.
