Laboratory Technician Position in Sydney

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team at Boral. Based in Baulkham Hills, this role involves working mainly in the Aggregates Sections. As part of a dynamic team, you will report directly to the Aggregates Laboratory Section Head.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Conducting testing in accordance with laboratory work instructions, test methods, preparation instructions, and manuals.
  • Performing prescribed calibrations and checks of laboratory test equipment.
  • Maintaining, observing, and participating in statutory Safety requirements of the Laboratory.
  • Maintaining the Laboratory NATA accreditation requirements.
  • Other duties as directed by the Section Head.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A strong commitment to Safety and Quality.
  • Previous experience in laboratory Soils / Aggregates materials testing (desirable but not essential).
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Science or relevant disciplines e.g. Civil, Chemical, or Materials Engineering (desirable but not essential).
  • Well-developed skills and understanding of computer systems for monitoring and reporting of data (especially Microsoft Word and Excel, or other LIMS).
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • An ability to cope with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Australian and Industry standards.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a customer focus.
