The Cross-Cultural Liaison Unit plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between multicultural and multifaith community groups, while providing critical support to officers in crime prevention.
As a liaison officer, you will be instrumental in fostering organisational understanding of First Nations cultures and promoting partnerships with community service organisations.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to enhancing organisational awareness of First Nations cultures and histories.
- Provide advice to members on effective referral processes for community services.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with First Nations leaders and communities.
- Assist Police Officers in navigating cultural appropriateness during communication.
- Genuine occupational requirement: An Identified position must be filled by a First Nations person.
- Driver's License - C class license or ability to acquire within a specified timeframe.
- Uniform Requirements - Adherence to QPS Code of Dress and Appearance as required.
- Roster Requirements - Working to a set roster with potential for weekend and shift work.
