About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Program Director to join our Customer Engagement Technology team within Consumer Technology at the Westpac Group. As a Program Director, you will play a key role in delivering the UNITE program initiatives within the Customer Engagement domain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Definition and Delivery: Ensure that the approach and plans for the program of work are robust, executable, and deliver the required outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of direct and indirect staff to ensure they execute projects to deliver the right business outcomes to a high level of quality and to the agreed cost and timeframes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage, inform, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure they remain engaged and committed throughout the life-cycle of your projects.
  • Governance and Compliance: Comply with the Westpac governance processes, to ensure stakeholders understand their role in delivery and that the required decision-making and escalation processes are in place to help achieve the required outcome.
  • Methodology and Process Improvement: Ensure adherence to Enterprise methodologies and processes, such as the Project Execution Framework methodology (PEFm) and Software Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) and provide input to develop and improve such methodologies and processes.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Direct the identification, resolution/mitigation, monitoring, reporting, and escalation of risks and issues.

Requirements
  • Extensive Experience: Extensive experience in the successful definition, mobilisation, and delivery of complex programs of work that impact multiple business areas.
  • Banking and Technology Experience: Experience in Banking & Technology is a must.
  • Leadership Experience: Leadership experience of leading a direct team of 15-20 project professionals and a virtual team of 40-50 people.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience engaging with and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking capabilities to assist in aligning the program with Westpac's broader goals.
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Agile Delivery Experience: Agile delivery experience.
  • Project Management Certification: Project management certification (e.g. PMI, CSM).
