Equipment Maintenance Specialist

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment. Reporting to the Site Manager, they contribute to safety, quality, throughput, and cost goals through equipment reliability and management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining plant and equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures, OHS/WHS legislation, and company policies.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance, modifications, and repairs on general plant and equipment for efficient and safe operation.
  • Maintaining the reporting system for effective scheduling of servicing equipment.
  • Working with the Engineering Team and Site Management on Capital Projects and plant upgrades.
  • Operating moving equipment for maintenance-related work.
  • Supervising employees and contractors through information, instruction, and training.

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist will liaise with Shift Supervisors and production employees to resolve plant operation issues promptly.

They will ensure shift production milestones are met regarding productivity, costs, and product quality.

Assistance in design and implementation of production optimization strategies is also expected.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications in engineering or mechanical disciplines relevant to the role.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience working with manufacturing and maintenance teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OH&S and Environmental Policies and Legislation.
  • Experience with production and maintenance KPIs, including planned preventative maintenance programs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Current Drivers license.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, and Confined Space licenses.
  • Physical fitness.
