About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Insurance Portfolio Manager to join our team. As a key member of our commercial insurance team, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients across various industries.

Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional service, tailored insurance solutions, and expert advice to our clients. You will work closely with our close-knit team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while identifying new business opportunities to grow our portfolio.
  • Insurance Solutions: Provide expert guidance on insurance products, policies, and industry changes to meet our clients' evolving needs.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement tailored insurance strategies aligned with each client's risk profile and business goals.
  • Cross-Sell and Upsell Opportunities: Identify and capitalize on cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the client base.
  • New Business Development: Collaborate with the team on new business development and marketing initiatives to drive growth.
  • Proposal Preparation: Prepare and present proposals to secure and grow accounts.
  • Policy Lifecycle Management: Manage the full policy lifecycle, including quotes, renewals, endorsements, and mid-term changes.
  • Insurer Liaison: Liaise with insurers and underwriters to ensure competitive pricing and optimal coverage.
  • Compliance: Maintain meticulous compliance with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, and company procedures.
  • Claims Support: Support clients through the claims process and advocate for timely and fair outcomes.
  • Risk Management Advice: Provide ongoing risk management advice and adjust strategies as businesses evolve.
  • Team Collaboration: Mentor and collaborate with junior team members when required.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in insurance broking or account management.
  • Portfolio Management: Proven ability to manage complex commercial client portfolios, preferably in transport and heavy equipment.
  • Sales and Relationship Focus: Sales and relationship-focused mindset with a drive to close and grow accounts.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and commitment to meticulous compliance.
  • Broking Systems: Proficiency in broking systems such as WinBEAT, Insight, and Sunrise.
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
  • Collaborative Approach: A collaborative and professional approach.
  • Autonomy and Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
