About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Federal Courts System, conducting intake, assessments, and case management to make recommendations to the courts in the interests of the child's wellbeing.

Our team seeks a highly experienced Child Court Expert to conduct child-centered preliminary and comprehensive family assessments, provide evidence to the Courts as an expert witness, and undertake risk screening and risk assessment to assist in case management and safety planning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive risk screening and family assessments, including conducting interviews and observations with children
  • Providing evidence to the Courts as an expert witness in the form of written reports and/or oral testimony
  • Undertaking risk screening and risk assessment to assist in case management and safety planning
  • Providing advice to parties and the Courts regarding external support services for children and families

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in a relevant social work discipline
  • Registration or eligibility for AASW or AHPRA
  • Relevant state WWCC
  • Ability to undergo and obtain a clear National Police Check
