Medical Laboratory Technician

The Maitland laboratory is a 24-hour, multidisciplinary laboratory that performs various laboratory investigations by applying established methods and procedures. It offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment, servicing the needs of the diverse and rapidly growing Hunter Valley region.

Job Description:
  • This is an exciting role for a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the technical staff who are committed to delivering high-quality pathology services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory testing in biochemistry, haematology and immunohaematology departments
  • Front end activities in specimen reception and data entry during afternoon shifts
  • Analyser maintenance and quality control
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Proven knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
