Role Overview

This role provides leadership and strategic direction to drive reform and transformation of the mental health and wellbeing systems in Victoria.

The Deputy Secretary, Mental Health and Wellbeing, is responsible for stewarding a more inclusive mental health and wellbeing system, promoting the principles of mental health and wellbeing, and ensuring continuous improvement in the quality and safety of mental health and wellbeing services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead performance and stakeholder management for mental health and wellbeing services.
  • Set strategic direction and lead reform and transformational change across the system.
  • Provide authoritative advice to Ministers and key stakeholders.
  • Commission high-quality mental health care and monitor budget and funding agreements with mental health services.
