At Flight Centre Travel Group, we're seeking a highly skilled Software Development Lead to join our team.

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced professional to lead our software development efforts and drive innovation in our travel products and services. As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications that power our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, build, test, release, and operation of software features across multiple applications to support our business objectives.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain web applications, microservices, and APIs primarily using .NET (up to version 8), Typescript, React, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers to ensure high-quality, secure, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Analyse and perform technical impact assessments and problem-solve to create the right solutions for our business.
  • Lead technical discussions and provide innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural design and system framework, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
  • Conduct technology evaluations and make recommendations on tools and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and other teams to define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Implement and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews with other engineers to provide feedback and ensure code quality, standards, readability, consistency, and compliance.
  • Perform unit testing and resolve defects to ensure software reliability.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for developed applications, including design specifications.

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including ongoing skill sharpening opportunities, access to industry-leading health and well-being programs, and financial advisors.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you'll need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of professional experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer, Technical Lead, or a similar role. You'll also require strong experience in agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, and proficiency in multiple programming languages, including .NET (up to version 8). Additionally, you'll need solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns, as well as strong experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
