Industrial Light & Magic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compositing Supervisor to join our team.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a talented professional with a passion for compositing to lead our team in delivering exceptional results on high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of 2D compositing, providing technical leadership and expertise to achieve outstanding visual effects.
  • Collaborate with Production and CG Supervisors to design workflows and optimize throughput on assigned shows.
  • Work closely with Production to develop bid estimates, schedules, and staff capacity planning to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Participate in color management, ensuring consistency across ILM's work, including scanning photography and internal color management systems.
  • Maintain proper clean-up, documentation, and archiving of completed projects to meet quality and efficiency standards.
  • Interface with other departments to facilitate seamless integration of work from various disciplines.
  • Assist in assessing software needs and requirements to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements:
  • A proven track record of leading compositing teams on large feature/episodic projects, with a strong ability to provide feedback to artists and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering collaboration and encouraging growth within the team.
  • Ability to prioritize effective communication, active listening, and situational awareness to make timely decisions that benefit the show, studio, and company as a whole.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing artists efficiently towards successful final shots, with a keen eye for aesthetics and technology.
  • Capacity to recognize areas for improvement and proactively pursue knowledge of new developments within and outside ILM.
  • Experience with documentation and dissemination of new techniques developed on the show.
What We Offer:

We are offering a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
