We are seeking a skilled Compositing Team Lead to join our team and contribute to the success of our projects.

Job Description

The Compositing Team Lead will be responsible for assisting the CG Sup and Producer to bid, schedule and execute the compositing production schedule.

They will assign and delegate work to the team, monitor shot progress, and enhance the look of Final 2D Animation images or CG Renders through Compositing techniques.

The successful candidate will work closely with the VFX Supervisor, Animation Director, and clients to ensure that the creative and technical requirements for final images are met.

They will also participate in the crew selection for the compositing team, attend client calls for briefs and notes discussions, and track client notes and flagging with productions push backs and overages.

The Compositing Team Lead will be responsible for ensuring a high level of quality by having a good eye for detail and cross checking renders are up to standard.

They will also be able to think of creative solutions to enhance shots, without overshadowing the overall story point or animation, including but not limited to, the addition of adding atmos, vignettes, depth of field.

Other responsibilities include producing final renders and elements for delivery with a neat and well labelled node network, while maintaining reference to files in correct locations and easy to navigate filing systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A superior eye for composition, colour, mood and lighting;
  • Up to date and in-depth knowledge of industry standard rendering, lighting and compositing software, in particular, Katana, Arnold and Nuke;
  • Knowledge of an asset manager like Shotgun is a plus;
  • Python and CEL scripting ability is a plus;
  • Experience with Surfacing or Look Development is a plus.
