Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our care team at Elizabeth Gardens Residential Aged Care Facility.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role where you will provide person-centered care to residents with dementia and complex needs. You will be responsible for assessing their health conditions, monitoring vital signs, and managing medications and treatments.

You will also liaise with medical, allied health, and hospital practitioners to ensure residents receive high-level clinical care. Your expertise in wound care, palliative care, behavior management, and clinical assessments will be invaluable to our team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support and advice to the Residential Aged Care Team as required
  • Carry out complex clinical assessments and ensure that the clinical care needs of Residents are met
  • Providing high-quality medical care, including assessing residents' health conditions, monitoring vital signs, and managing medications and treatments
  • Undertake, or supervise others to undertake, clinical care for individual residents as required, including complex wound care, pain management, behavior management, end of-life care and other clinical procedures as may be necessary
  • Liaise with relevant Residential care staff, medical, allied health, hospital and other specialist health practitioners to ensure residents receive high level clinical care
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) administered through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Recent experience in caring for high care and dementia residents
  • Knowledge of wound care, palliative care, behavior management, clinical assessments, care plans
