Job Summary:

The Orthopaedic Registrar is a key role that involves working closely with experienced orthopaedic surgeons to gain exposure to various subspecialties and managing patients on the ward and assisting at orthopaedic operations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing surgical assistance skills in the operating theatre to support the visiting medical officer
  • Reviewing patients in the emergency department and intensive care unit as required by and under the supervision of the visiting medical officer during business hours
  • Reviewing inpatients pre and post operatively at the request of the visiting medical officer during business hours
  • Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to clinical teaching opportunities

Essential Qualities:

  • Current full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A minimum of 12 months experience in the specialty
  • Recent experience working in Australia
