The Role

We are seeking an Orthopaedic Registrar (unaccredited) to work alongside several orthopaedic surgeons, gaining exposure to various subspecialties and managing patients on the ward and assisting at orthopaedic operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing surgical assistant skills in the operating theatre to support the Accredited Visiting Medical Officer (VMO)
  • Reviewing patients in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit as required by and under the supervision of the Accredited VMO during business hours
  • Reviewing inpatients pre and post operatively at the request of the Accredited VMO during business hours
  • Participating in Orthopaedic Department meetings
  • Participating in clinical teaching opportunities

What you'll need to succeed:

Essential qualities:

  • Full AHPRA registration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in specialty
  • Recent experience working in Australia
