Responsibilities
As a Director of Product Design, you will be responsible for:
- Developing a deep understanding of our platform products and expertise to drive strategic design projects.
- Leading cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to understand user needs and develop innovative design solutions.
- Translating findings into simple yet engaging user experiences across platforms.
- Navigating ambiguity and exploring conceptual, JTBD, and competitive landscape to achieve product market fit.
- Leading a team of product designers, providing mentorship, and setting clear career paths.
- Overseeing end-to-end user experience designs across desktop, mobile web, and app.
- Providing concrete, actionable feedback to team members and promoting a feedback-driven design culture.
- Establishing and evolving our design system and guidelines to ensure consistency and high quality.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 8+ years of experience as a UX/Product designer, including 4+ years in a leadership role managing designers.
- Experience working in a fast-paced tech start-up environment.
- Strong product logic and first-principle thinking.
- Ability to explore and thrive in ambiguous project contexts.
- Solid track record of project management and delivery.
- Outcome-oriented.
- Financial industry experience is a plus, but intellectual curiosity is essential.
- Experience working in complex systems with multi-disciplinary, multi-threaded user journeys.
- A track record of recruiting and hiring a world-class design team.
- Strong portfolio showcasing project experience with both UI and UX design for responsive web platforms.
