Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic individual to join our team as an Adult Complex & Severe Peer Worker in Coffs Harbour.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster meaningful, peer-to-peer relationships by sharing lived experience and promoting social change.
  • Provide one-on-one support and facilitate peer support groups for individuals navigating recovery.
  • Offer secondary consultation and education to staff and service providers to enhance recovery-oriented mental health services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Lived experience of mental illness, substance dependence, and/or trauma.
  • Lived experience of the recovery journey.
  • Group facilitation skills.
  • Understanding of human rights and social justice, trauma-informed care, and harm minimisation approaches.
