Therapeutic Youth Care Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a resilient and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our team in Grafton. As a Therapeutic Youth Care Specialist, you will provide direct support and care to children and young people living in Intensive Therapeutic Care homes. Our young people have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect and may have a mental health, physical, or psychosocial disability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a caring and trusting relationship with the young person
- Meet the day-to-day needs of children and young people, working within legislative requirements and Life Without Barriers initiatives
- Provide daily care, supervision, and role modelling
- Facilitate activities to promote self-efficacy and emotional wellbeing
- Support the young person to participate in school, vocational training, or employment
- Effectively advocate the views of the young people
- Participate in team meetings, reflective practice, and supervision
- Maintain high-quality record keeping and documentation

Requirements:
- Diploma in Community Services or related field (or willingness to complete a Diploma with Life Without Barriers)
- Current Provide First Aid and CPR certificates
- Australian Driver's Licence
- Ability to form and maintain professional relationships with children and young people
Security Clearances:
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check and NSW Working with Children Check.
