Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our team at Life Without Barriers. As a key member of our Intensive Therapeutic Care team, you will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people living in our homes across Tweed Heads.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a strong, trusting relationship with each young person, prioritizing their individual needs and well-being.
  • Provide daily care, supervision, and role modeling, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Facilitate activities that promote connection with family, community, and culture, empowering young people to reach their full potential.
  • Support young people to participate in education, vocational training, or employment, fostering their independence and self-efficacy.
  • Effectively advocate for the views and needs of each young person, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality record keeping, documentation, and team meetings, driving continuous improvement and best practice.
Requirements
  • A Diploma in Community Services or a related field, or currently enrolled in a Diploma or above.
  • Current Provide First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Australian Drivers Licence.
  • The ability to form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships with children and young people.
