About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to lead the Griffith Youth Forensic Service (GYFS) team. As a Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality state-wide forensic services to young people who have been adjudicated for a sexual offence.

The successful candidate will possess a minimum four-year degree in psychology, social work, criminology, or a related human services discipline and registration with relevant professional bodies is highly desirable. Completion or progression towards the completion of a higher degree (Masters, Professional Doctorate, PhD) in a relevant discipline is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of practitioners/clinicians and support staff, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Provide and contribute to advanced level case management or consultation in relation to complex, high-risk, and high-profile cases with the GYFS team.
  • Design, implement, and/or oversee therapeutic programs tailored to the unique needs of youth with harmful sexual behavior, incorporating evidence-based practices and adapting interventions as necessary.
  • Foster partnerships with external agencies, community resources, and families to create a comprehensive support network for the youth in the program.
  • Provide supervision and training for staff, promoting professional development and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and make sound, ethically informed decisions in complex and challenging situations.
  • Culturally sensitive and competent, recognising and addressing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of youth and families, ensuring culturally appropriate and inclusive care.
  • Maintain accurate records, compile data, and prepare reports to evaluate program effectiveness and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
