Strategic Asset Planning Lead

The Strategic Asset Planning Lead will play a key role in shaping the future of Victoria's rail network.

This senior leadership position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in strategic asset management, infrastructure planning, and investment strategy. The successful candidate will lead the development of long-term asset strategies, investment plans, and lifecycle models that underpin the sustainable management of V/Line's infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present persuasive business cases and investment scenarios to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
  • Oversee the creation of asset strategies and lifecycle plans that optimise cost, risk, and performance.
  • Support continuous improvement in maintenance planning, asset modelling, and investment prioritisation.
  • Provide expert advice on asset risk, performance, and long-term planning to executive stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in strategic asset management, infrastructure planning, or investment strategy.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business case development and presenting to executive and departmental audiences.
  • Strong understanding of asset lifecycle planning, risk-based maintenance, and performance optimisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership of cross-functional teams in complex, regulated environments.

What You Will Need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, Business, or a related field.
