The Role: Energy Trading Analyst

We are seeking a motivated and analytical individual with an interest in energy markets, analytics, and trading to join our team of experts.

This role offers unrivalled exposure and career growth within the energy trading function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analysing the National Electricity Market to understand supply, demand, competitor strategies, and transmission constraints.
  • Providing analytical support to the wider trading team using the understanding of the National Electricity Markets, to optimise physical and financial trading positions.
  • Assessing risks and opportunities of plant operations by coordinating with operations staff.
  • Submitting plant offers into the National Electricity Market in accordance with the NEM timetable, and in compliance with internal risk management policies.
  • Providing analytical support to other teams, particularly the financial trading and electricity retail functions.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will require strong analytical and quantitative abilities, combined with effective interpersonal skills.

A relevant tertiary qualification, such as Mathematics, Advanced Economics, Engineering, or IT, is highly desirable.
