Working with the Shell Energy Spot Trading team, you will develop expertise in gas trading and power generation assets, creating value through portfolio optimization, maintenance planning, and integrating new business.
You will liaise with counterparties, partners, and service providers to ensure timely and accurate decision-making.
The team operates within strict regulatory standards, contractual agreements, risk limits, and Shell standards.
You will work in a duty trader roster providing 24/7 coverage throughout the year.
What you'll be doing Manage long-term gas contract scheduling and optimization Negotiate gas sales and purchase terms Schedule power dispatch into NEM and WEMAnalyze market data to inform strategy Interpret gas sales and purchase contracts Prepare data for compliance and regulatory submissions Improve processes through analytics and data management Interact with customers, partners, and pipeline operators for scheduling Engage with the Wallumbilla Gas Supply Hub and regulated markets like STTM and DWGMCollaborate with the broader team on strategy, market events, and escalation items Present market and portfolio updates to the team What you will thrive in Managing physical gas and power portfolios safely and in compliance Optimizing portfolios for short-term value Being a well-rounded team player with expertise in trading, analysis, contracts, negotiation, and risk management Maintaining data and IT systems for business growth Integrating new business with origination, development, and retail teams Building negotiation skills and stakeholder communication What you bring High integrity and compliance focus Strong collaboration and communication skills Attention to detail and accuracy under time constraints Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills Clear communication across all levels Commercial acumen for opportunities Self-motivation with resilience and accountability Willingness to work on a shift roster in Brisbane Tertiary qualification in STEM, business, or related field Application deadline: August 22.
