We are seeking an experienced Energy Trader to join our dynamic team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and excellent communication abilities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for trading energy commodities in real-time, utilizing their expertise to optimize revenue and minimize risk. They will work closely with our market analysts and traders to develop and implement effective trading strategies, leveraging their knowledge of market trends and regulatory requirements.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term trading plans to achieve revenue growth and minimize risk.
  • Analyze market data and trends to inform trading decisions and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with market analysts and traders to develop and implement effective trading strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of trades, including documentation of transactions, contracts, and settlements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in economics, commerce, mathematical or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in energy or financial market trading, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A thorough understanding of operational power generation assets and fuel management.
  • The ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on optimizing revenue and minimizing risk.
