Senior Budget Analyst

UGL is seeking a skilled professional to join their project team in Perth, providing support on the Chevron CO2 project.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and submission of monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) reports to clients
- Supporting the tracking and managing of variation costs and procurement commitments against budgets
- Ensuring all costs and time are booked to the correct cost code and under the appropriate CTR
- Tracking and analyzing materials, plant, tooling, and equipment costs against budget
- Conducting regular audits to verify and adjust cost entries in SAP and Track'em
- Reviewing time allocations by offsite resources and coordinating approvals in Track'em (client system)
- Initial vetting of incoming invoices for correct coding and matching to purchase orders, including liaison with accounts payable departments
- Supporting Financial Analysts with the creation of Contractors' monthly invoices and all supporting data to allow company review of sums invoiced
- Reconciling timesheet data against mobilization records to ensure billing accuracy is maintained
- Preparing, revising, and communicating cost control procedures as necessary to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely reporting of real-time costs
- Cost control, forecasting, and analysis against Work Order requirements
- Running commitment reports to monitor and adjust any outstanding commitments
- Monitoring project budgets and reporting weekly on the status of commitment to Commercial and Procurement Leads highlighting any potential risk
- Leading project cost attribution regarding month-end financial close processes, timely invoice processing and raising, accruals, and cost transfers, monitoring and reviewing aged accruals, monthly financial performance monitoring/reporting, undertaking variance analysis (actual vs. planned) and advising project leads on financial risks and appropriate resolution
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in project controls, including at least 2 years as a Cost Controller, within a commercial environment and/or change management role in relevant operations
- Knowledge of financial management systems, with SAPFSM and Track'em experience highly regarded
- A proven track record of being responsible, flexible, and an excellent communicator
- A strong understanding of industry standards and best practices relevant to the project
- Relevant experience in an industrial services organization and/or mining/oil and gas sector
