Cost Control Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Cost Control Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing project costs and ensuring alignment with approved budgets.

Job Description:

This position involves overseeing and monitoring projects costs, collaborating closely with the Project Controls and Execution teams to achieve project objectives, and preparing and submitting monthly reports to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and submission of monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) reports.
  • Tracking and managing variation costs and procurement commitments against budgets.
  • Ensuring all costs and time are booked to the correct cost code and under correct CTR.
  • Tracking and analysis of materials, plant, tooling, and equipment costs against budget.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify and adjust cost entries in financial management systems.
  • Reviewing time allocations by offsite resources and coordinating approvals.
  • Initial vetting of incoming invoices for correct coding and matching to purchase orders.
  • SUPPORTING Financial Analyst with the creation of Contractors monthly invoice.
  • Reconciliation of timesheet data against mobilisation records to ensure billing accuracy is maintained.
  • Preparing, revising, and communicating cost control procedures as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in project controls, including at least 2 years as a Cost Controller, within a commercial environment.
  • Knowledge of financial management systems.
  • A proven track record of being responsible, flexible, and an excellent communicator.
  • A strong understanding of industry standards and best practices relevant to the project.
