Project Cost Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee and monitor project costs, ensuring alignment with approved financial plans.

This role will be responsible for preparing and submitting monthly Value of Work Done (VOWD) reports, tracking and managing variation costs and procurement commitments against budgets, and ensuring all costs and time are booked to the correct cost code and under correct CTR.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in project controls, including at least 2 years as a Cost Controller, within a commercial environment and/or change management role in relevant operations.

They will also require knowledge of financial management systems, such as SAPFSM and Track'em, and a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices relevant to the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible, flexible, and an excellent communicator, with a proven track record in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and submission of monthly VOWD reports to stakeholders
  • Tracking and managing variation costs and procurement commitments against budgets
  • Ensuring accurate booking of costs and time to the correct cost code and under correct CTR
  • Analysis and tracking of materials, plant, tooling, and equipment costs against budget
  • Conducting regular audits to verify and adjust cost entries in financial systems
  • Reviewing time allocations by offsite resources and coordinating approvals in Track'em
  • Initial vetting of incoming invoices for correct coding and matching to purchase orders
  • Supporting Financial Analyst with creation of Contractors monthly invoice, and all supporting data
  • Reconciliation of timesheet data against mobilisation records to ensure billing accuracy
  • Preparing, revising, and communicating cost control procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of real-time costs
  • Cost forecasting and analysis against Work Order requirements
  • Running commitment reports to monitor and adjust outstanding commitments
  • Monitoring project budgets and reporting weekly on status of commitment
