Operational Business Analyst

The role of Operational Business Analyst is pivotal in supporting the operational team to drive business performance. You will be based on-site on Mondays and Tuesdays, with a flexible third day allowing for location and timing variety.

This position reports directly to the Finance Manager and involves providing timely and insightful analyses on Operations performance. The focus includes understanding financial results, key drivers, risks, and opportunities to inform business action plans and enhance overall performance.

You will possess commercial and operational acumen, influencing and communicating effectively with stakeholders. You will address 'hands-on' issues promptly and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Purpose of the Role
  • Partner proactively with Operations teams to identify operational performance and growth opportunities aligned with the company strategy.
  • Enhance financial awareness within Operational teams by creating an environment where employees understand the financial implications of their decisions.
  • Deliver monthly financial results, month-end reporting, and variance analysis while engaging business partners.
  • Support the company growth agenda by providing relevant insight/evaluation, analysis, financial modeling, data analytics, and Business Case development to facilitate decision-making.
  • Explore and uncover potential business improvements to drive profitability upwards.
About You
  • Minimum 4-5 years (post-qualification) experience in financial or management accounting or business partnering, including responsibility for monthly financial reporting and budgeting & forecasting.
  • FMCG manufacturing industry experience highly regarded.
  • Self-starter mindset with a desire for ongoing process excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Sound analytical skills to deliver clear financial analysis simply to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Excellent business partnering skills with strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills through questioning, seeking input, anticipating and managing risk, and good attention to detail.
  • CA/CPA qualification.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel essential).
  • Experience with SAP and Tableau advantageous.
