Psychological Strategies Clinician

We are seeking a motivated and experienced clinician to join our team in Dubbo. As a psychological strategies clinician, you will provide individualized support to people accessing our service within a community-based mental health care setting.

About the Service

Our service provides a safe and welcoming environment for people experiencing psychological distress, providing an alternative to presenting to the Emergency Department for low-risk individuals. You will work collaboratively across health service networks to plan and coordinate psychosocial interventions to meet the needs of people with mental health issues based on a case formulation approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, provide brief and ongoing interventions, risk management, and care planning
  • Work cooperatively and effectively through active participation within the multidisciplinary mental health team, with consumers, families/carers, and extended agencies

Requirements:
  • Must have one of the following: General AHPRA registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse, or AASW registration as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
  • Demonstrated a comprehensive level of knowledge, expertise, and skill; specifically, Brief Intervention Models of Care, Commitment to professional development, and willingness to participate in a continuous learning environment
