
Workshop Operations Manager

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have the ability to oversee the daily operations of our workshop.
- Leadership and Supervision :
- Directly supervise workshop staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Lead by example with a strong focus on people management and leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise workshop staff and provide technical support as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations within the workshop.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring all staff adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
- Manage staff timesheets and leave requests, plan and quote for workshop jobs, sign off on completed work, and assist with budgeting inventory.
- Act as a liaison between sales staff, customers, and the workshop, ensuring clear communication and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all crack testing and welding processes meet Australian standards.
- Liaise with external suppliers and other branches, assisting with queries and stock transfers as needed.
- Conduct toolbox talks, plan daily activities for workshop personnel, mentor and train apprentices and staff to develop their skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Previous experience in a workshop supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of workshop operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
