Job Opportunity: First Nations Workforce Lead

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organisation as a First Nations Workforce Lead, playing a critical role in shaping and implementing strategies that promote cultural capability, retention, and cultural safety across the organisation.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to enhance cultural capability across the workforce, focusing on retention, progression, and visibility of First Nations employees.
  • Provide expert advice and strategic leadership to embed cultural safety into policies, systems, and everyday practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver impactful cultural capability initiatives for leaders, managers, and frontline staff.
  • Establish metrics and benchmarks to assess and monitor cultural capability across all employee groups.
  • Identify and address systemic barriers through data analysis and staff engagement.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity*, with strong cultural knowledge, lived experience, and relationship-building skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Education & Training, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in complex organisations and influencing across teams without direct authority.
  • Confidence in group facilitation, training delivery, and capability building.
  • A strong track record in workforce development, cultural safety initiatives, and retention strategies.
