
First Nations Workforce Developer

The Indigenous Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in fostering sustainable employment outcomes for First Nations staff within our organization. This position is instrumental in bridging the gap between our Indigenous workforce and operational teams, ensuring a seamless employment journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentorship of existing First Nations employees - Provide guidance and support for career growth, training opportunities, and personal development.
- Onboarding of new First Nations employees - Offer introductions and post-placement support to ensure a smooth transition.
- Analysis and Administration - Utilize data analytics skills to capture insights on employee progress, stories, career plans, and mentoring frameworks.
- Program Facilitation - Continue the success of our flagship Making Tracks Program, which has brought over 150 First Nations people into the security industry.
- Community Outreach - Represent our organization in the community, promoting awareness of our Reconciliation Action Plan and potential collaboration opportunities.
- Reconciliation Champion - Actively advocate for and support the implementation of our Reconciliation Action Plan, contributing to national and local project initiatives that drive meaningful outcomes for First Nations peoples.
Selection Criteria:
- Strategic thinking abilities to develop and maintain Indigenous retention strategies.
- Proactive problem-solving approach, seeking advice and perspectives before taking decisive action.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technological skills with adaptability to new databases.
- Exceptional organizational skills, managing competing tasks and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, establishing friendly and professional relationships with internal stakeholders and contributing to team goals.
