About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Aboriginal Practice Team as a Taikurtirna Warri-apinthi Practitioner. This role is a critical part of our team's efforts to support Aboriginal children and young people in their journey towards safety, strength, and connection to their families, community, and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with Aboriginal children and young people, their families, and communities.
  • Develop and implement work plans to engage and support family networks, identifying necessary resources and services.
  • Ensure Aboriginal children and young people remain connected to their cultural heritage, community, and identity.
  • Provide culturally sensitive information and support to DCP staff to inform prevention and intervention plans.
  • Build and maintain a lifetime support network for Aboriginal children and young people, prioritizing child safety.
About You

We are looking for a confident and empathetic individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to establish strong relationships with Aboriginal people through their kinship systems. You will have a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of children and young people's development stages, vulnerability, and resilience.

You will also have the capability to understand the context of child development, parenting capacity, and environmental factors to identify the needs of individual children or young people.
